چکیده

Abstract Timed Petri nets and max-plus automata are well known modelling frameworks for timed discrete-event systems. In this paper we present an iterative procedure that constructs a automaton from net while retaining the behaviour. Regarding net, essentially impose three assumptions: (a) must be bounded, i.e, reachability graph finite; (b) interpret with single server semantics; (c) operates according to race policy, i.e., earliest possible transition will fire thereby possibly consume tokens required by other competing transitions. Under these assumptions show proposed terminates finite deterministic realises same behaviour as net. As variation of plain also consider subsequently designed supervisor may temporarily disable distinguished Again, terminating equivalent automaton. We demonstrate example how latter can utilised open-loop model in context control.

Modeling of Timed Petri Nets Using Deterministic (max, +) Automata

Automata with weights (multiplicities) in (max,+) algebra form a class of timed automata. Determinism is a crucial property for numerous results on (max,+) automata and, in particular, for applications to performance evaluation and control of a large class of timed discrete event systems. In this paper, we show how to build a deterministic (max,+) automaton equivalent to a live and safe timed P...

Using Interval Petri Nets and Timed Automata for Diagnosis of Discrete Event Systems (DES)

A discrete event system (DES) is a dynamic system that evolves in accordance with the abrupt occurrence, at possibly unknown irregular intervals, of physical events. Because of the special nature of these systems, different tools are currently used for their analysis, design and modeling. The main focus of this paper is the presentation of a new modeling approach of Discrete Event Systems. The ...

From Time Petri Nets to Timed Automata

In this paper, we consider Time Petri Nets (TPN) where time is associated with transitions. We give a formal semantics for TPNs in terms of Timed Transition Systems. Then, we propose a translation from TPNs to Timed Automata (TA) that preserves the behavioural semantics (timed bisimilarity) of the TPNs. For the theory of TPNs this result is two-fold: i) reachability problems and more generally ...

Timed-Arc Petri Nets vs. Networks of Timed Automata

We establish mutual translations between the classes of 1safe timed-arc Petri nets (and its extension with testing arcs) and networks of timed automata (and its subclass where every clock used in the guard has to be reset). The presented translations are very tight (up to isomorphism of labelled transition systems with time). This provides a convenient characterization from the theoretical poin...

Comparison of Expressiveness for Timed Automata and Time Petri Nets

In this paper we consider the model of Time Petri Nets (TPN) “à la Merlin” where a time interval is associated with the firing of a transition, but we extend it with open intervals. We also consider Timed Automata (TA) as defined by Alur & Dill. We investigate some questions related to expressiveness for these models : we study the impact of slight variations of semantics for TPN and we compare...
